About This Blog
I have been invited as a visiting professor to teach an “Introduction to MIS” MBA and executive MBA class during the first semester of 2008 (May - August) at Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand. Assumption University is an International (all instruction in English) institution that has approximately 20,000 students in two main campuses; the Bang Na (Suvarnabhumi) campus for undergraduate studies and the Hua Mak campus for graduate studies.
Besides working on research that is in various stages of completion, I will conduct research that will examine Thai information security and assurance (ISA) regulations and how Thai organizations work towards compliance. The objective of this research will be to examine how ISA policies in Thailand impact American ISA policies, and vice versa.
During my time in Thailand, I will also work to pursue partnerships with Thai universities. The objective of these partnerships will be to extend my university’s (Jacksonville State University) international reach by integrating its faculty, students, and programs with Thai counterparts across the globe through program initiatives that include faculty exchanges, student exchanges, field placements, international internships, and study abroad programs, all tied together through information technology.
